complexity of today's
families with many
non-traditional homes, we
will minister wholeness
through oneness with God to
each marriage and family.
The G.A.F.T.C. Marriage
Ministry will offer
purpose-¬driven conferences,
seminars, retreats, and
fellowship with other
couples to allow God to
enrich, renew and strengthen
marriages. We encourage all
couples to build upon their
marriage relationship
according to God's Word. Our purpose is to help
couples with better
communication, a deeper
understanding of each other
and all other areas of
marriage. Our goal is to
encourage, strengthen and
equip marriages as well as
families into deeper
Christ-centered
relationships. The G.A.F.T.C. Marriage Ministry conducts various conferences throughout the year. We deal with many topics such as:
DATE NIGHTS We try to encourage
couples to spend time
together by having "Date
Nights" throughout the year.
We will go to a nice
restaurant and enjoy our
spouses as well as
fellowship with other
couples. In the summer we usually
try to hold a `theme' party.
Everyone seems to enjoy the
Luau. We try to have
`Hawaiian Style' food and a
grand prize for the best
Hawaiian dressed couple. We
play games such as the
`Potato Race' and `The
Married Game' In September we combine
forces with Christian
Education and hold our
annual Homecoming Family
Picnic. It is like a `family
reunion'. The day includes
fabulous food, great
fellowship, baseball and
basketball tournaments, kids
races and games, and a
Dessert Bake Off contest. We often like to have
potluck get-togethers; some
just for couples and others
for the whole family. Elder Jerome and Sister
Denise Smith have been
married for 22 years. Their
relationship has gone
through many difficult and
emotional times. At one
point, they were on the
verge of getting divorced,
not because they didn't love
each other, but because of
miscommunication. Once they
became saved in 1989 God put
their marriage back together
and has made it stronger
than they ever dreamed
possible. Now their passion
is to help others with their
