BIBLICAL BACKGROUND – Old
Testament
OT.: The departure of
Israel from Egypt (Book of
Exodus). God sees the need
for deliverance: And the
Lord said, I have surely seen
the affliction of my people
which are in Egypt… and I am
come down to deliver them
out of the hand of the
Egyptians… (Ex 3:7-8); The
Lord commands
freedom/deliverance of his
people: … Let my people go,
that they may serve me… (Ex
7:16, 8:1, 8:20, 9:1, 9:13,
10:3).
John 3:3, 5
- Jesus answered and said
unto him, Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, Except a
man be born he cannot see
the kingdom of God.
v5 - Jesus
answered, Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, Except a
man be born of
water and of
the Spirit,
he cannot enter
into the kingdom of God.

Acts 2:38- 39 -

promise is unto
you, and to your children,
and to all that are afar

Witness of the Lord’s
Christ:… there was a man in
Jerusalem, whose name was
Simeon… and it was revealed
unto him by the Holy Ghost,
that he should not see
death, before he had seen
the Lords’ Christ… when the
parents brought the child
Jesus…. Then he took him up
in his arms… and said…For
mine eyes have seen the
salvation (Lk 2:25-30);
Jesus is the only door to
salvation: I am the door: by
me if any man enter in, he
shall be saved….(Jn 10:9);
Jesus is the only Saviour:
For God sent not his Son to
condemn the world; but that
the world through him might
be saved (Jn 3:17);
Testified of the Apostles
as Saviour: The God of our
fathers raised up Jesus….
Him hath God exalted with
his right hand to be a
Prince and a Saviour, for to
give repentance to Israel,
and forgiveness of sins
(Acts 5:30-31); Gospel of
Jesus Christ leads man to
salvation: For I am not
ashamed of the gospel of
Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to
every one the believeth… (Ro
1:16); Jesus purpose – to
save: … Christ Jesus came
into the world to save
sinners… (I Ti. 1:15)
